RMS is collaborating with a prestigious automotive client, and we are seeking skilled paint technicians. We invite you to join our Paint department to help us maintain and enhance their top-notch service quality.
Job Details:
- Location: Corby
- Position: Paint Technician
- Type: Temp to Perm
- Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Monday-Friday. 2x Shift rotation 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm
- Salary: £22.00 per hour. Overtime and Unsociable hours at an Increased rate.
About the role?
Working under the supervision and co-ordination of the Workshop Shift Manager, the main task is to carry out any necessary minor paint work repairs using Small, Medium Area Repair Technology (SMART) to ensure vehicles are in pristine condition prior to dispatch
Key responsibilities of the Role:
- To prepare and carry out any necessary paint repairs.
- To ensure that all vehicles are painted to the manufacturers required standard using appropriate repair techniques (SMART).
- To ensure materials are used within the manufacturer’s instruction and minimal usage for effective repair.
- To remove and replace / fit protector mouldings, transfers and decals.
- Apply finishing materials, water and solvency-based materials.
- To carry out masking and sanding procedures.
- Prepare substrate for refinishing
- To apply colour matching techniques and to carry out paint rectification and touch up work.
- To carry out buffering and burnishing.
- Inspect paint and trim work to ascertain recommended repair procedures.
- To maintain the upkeep of all Workshop tools and equipment.
- To ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times
- Undertake other duties as directed commensurate with the level of the job function.
About you?
- To be successful, you must be over 22 years old, possess a valid driver’s license with fewer than 6 penalty points, and have no DR10 offenses for insurance purposes.
- Previous experience within the automotive industry.
- Must be competent in Vehicle Paint Spraying and SMART working, with at least two years’ experience.
- Proven colour matching techniques required to carry out paint rectification and touch up work.
- Experienced working with both water and solvency-based materials.
- Fully conversant with Health & Safety, relating to the Paint Refinisher role and equipment used.
