Happy International Women’s Day – a time to celebrate the amazing women in our midst!
We are proud to have so many brilliant people in our business, from the Managing Director to our HR, recruitment and payroll superstars, each bringing their own skill to complement the team as whole. In fact, a whopping 75% of our management team are women and have worked together for over 15 years. Let’s go behind the scenes and get to know some of the talented women who make RMS rock!
First up is our managing director Carole Martin.
Carole started the RMS story in November 2000 when she began the business on her own and without any financial backing or investors. She has grown RMS into a leading UK recruitment and HR company, instilling her passion and wealth of experience of over 25 years in the industry; she is a force to be reckoned with.
As an independently owned business with one female sole owner, she recognises the tenacity needed to strive in business today. She said: “Always go with your gut instinct. Do not be pushed or persuaded that banks, accountants or finance houses are the ones that know best. As a business owner, it is your company, they are your issues, and you are fully responsible so be proud and own it.”
Carole and her team have successfully tendered for business, won numerous awards and dealt with many prestigious automotive organisations.
She said: “The team’s knowledge of strategic, operational HR and recruitment are second to none. We are inclusive and promote diversity, identifying talent regardless of gender or race and primarily look to internally promote individuals and provide the relevant training to further themselves and have lengthy careers at RMS and our clients.”
And as the company goes from strength to strength, Carole shows no signs of letting her foot off the gas. She continued: “We are hugely ambitious and have built up an excellent reputation in the North-East and beyond, especially in the automotive manufacturing and engineering sectors. Our vision for the next 18 months is exciting and we have major growth plans. Watch this space.”
