Location: Brompton-On-Swale, North Yorkshire

Hours of work: 2:30PM to 11PM Monday to Thursday & 2:30PM to 8:30PM Friday.
40 hours standard week.

The salary is £19.50 – £20 per hour (depending on experience) and includes shift allowance.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Working with 5 – 100mm plate
• Heat straightening.
• Understanding of Engineering Drawings
• Must pass trade test.
• Correct use of grinders and associated consumables whilst adhering to the HAVS regulations
• Demonstrates commitment to HSEQ.
• Ensures that all relevant safe operating procedures are adopted in line with the companies’ requirements.
• Works to production targets to ensure company deadlines are met.
• Supports and engages in all training activities.

Skills & Experience required:

• Time served (or possess other equivalent qualifications) in Plating. (skill test will be required)
• City & Guilds/NVQ in Plating in structural steel
• Excellent understanding of plating codes and standard
• Understanding and use of overhead cranes and slinging techniques
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills as well as good knowledge of production processes and systems
• Experience in heavy engineering.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Required to demonstrate a positive and motivated approach to your work combined with an ability to work to a high standard within time constraints.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good use of initiative
• Full understanding of health & safety and safe work behaviours
• Working with structural steel is essential.
• Carrying out any other duties not listed above as may reasonably be required.
