Petrofac confirms exit of director Thain

Energy service company Petrofac confirmed today that one of its Aberdeen directors was leaving the company.

Walter Thain decided to leave his role as managing director, Petrofac engineering and production services, west, in summer 2017.

Mr Thain’s six month notice period ends this month, Petrofac said.

He worked at the company for 13 years.

His responsibilities have come under the broader remit of John Pearson, who was appointed to lead Petrofac’s engineering and production services business in the Western Hemisphere in October.

Mr Pearson had been at Amec Foster Wheeler for 28-years.

Mr Thain’s spell as chairman of the Oil and Gas UK Efficiency Taskforce recently came to an end, as well.

He was replaced by Phil Simons, Subsea 7’s vice president North Sea and Canada.
