Exciting News! We have a new opportunity available to join a state-of-the-art workshop. Due to rapid growth we are looking for a skilled staff members to join our team and play a vital role in preparing, refinishing, and restoring alloy wheels to the highest cosmetic and quality standards
- Location: Corby
- Position: Alloy Whele Painter
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Weekly shift rotations (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm)
- Salary: £18.47 per hour, overtime and unsociable hours paid at a enhanced rate.
Looking for a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment? You’ll work under the Workshop Shift Manager, carrying out all necessary wheel preparation, paint, and finishing processes using approved repair methods and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare alloy wheels for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming.
- Carry out paint application to alloy wheels using approved techniques and materials (wet paint and/or powder coating as required).
- Mix and match paints accurately to ensure a precise colour match to OEM specifications.
- Apply base coats, top coats, and clear coats using appropriate refinishing systems.
- Conduct minor cosmetic repairs such as kerb damage, scuffs, and corrosion treatment prior to painting.
- Operate alloy wheel refurbishment machinery, including lathes, blasting cabinets, and ovens where applicable.
- Inspect finished work to ensure high-quality standards and rectify any defects (e.g., polishing, buffing, or rework).
- Maintain paint booth and work area cleanliness, ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including correct handling of paints, solvents, and protective equipment.
About you?
- To be successful, you must be over 22 years old, possess a valid driver’s license with fewer than 6 penalty points, and have no DR10 offenses for insurance purposes.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in paint spraying or alloy wheel repair/refinishing.
- Skilled in colour matching and paint rectification.
