RMS is proud to be partnering with a well-established engineering and fabrication specialist, to offer an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fabricator / Welder to join their skilled team.

This vacancy represents a fantastic chance to join a respected, growing company known for delivering high-quality light steel fabrications and bespoke engineering solutions across a wide range of industries.

  • Location: Spennymoor
  • Hourly Rate: Up to £16.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
  • Hours: Monday – Thursday 07:30–16:30 | Friday 07:30–14:00

About the role:

As a key member of the fabrication team, you’ll work predominantly with mild steel (with some stainless steel projects), producing and repairing a variety of custom components to exacting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and weld components from engineering drawings, ensuring precision and quality.
  • Use hand and power tools to cut, shape, and finish materials.
  • Work independently on a variety of fabrication and repair projects.
  • Perform quality checks on completed work to meet company standards.
  • Apply mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Produce light steel fabrications (typically 2mm – 6mm plate and sections).

About you:

  • Proven experience as a Fabricator / Welder (essential).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Competent with hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Reliable, motivated, and able to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
