The Role:
As an Electrical Technician, you will be part of a multi-disciplined diagnostic team, responding to breakdowns and completing planned maintenance while working 12-hour shifts. Supporting the Shift Management team (Production and Engineering), your goal will be to ensure safety, quality, and production targets are met. You will be expected to assist across-site to support business objectives, working in various departments to gain comprehensive operational knowledge and collaborating with local teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report to the Engineering Team Leader on all matters relating to the maintenance and operation of plant and equipment.
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance activities on all plant and equipment.
- Self-organise and prioritise work tasks, managing responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader, Section Engineer, or Shift Manager.
- Assist in the development and improvement of maintenance practices and procedures.
- Log completed work, book out spares, and update the CMMS, keeping the team informed of any issues.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, maintaining accurate records.
- Advise the Team Leader or Section Engineer of any spares used or required.
- Ensure all team members follow agreed procedures and systems of working, reporting any deviations. Participate in the creation of Risk Assessments, Safe Working Procedures (SWP), and Job Task Descriptions (JTDs).
- Conduct point-of-work risk assessments.
- Liaise with the engineering department to maintain all equipment to the required standard.
- Contribute to reducing or eliminating waste in departmental operations.
Abput You:
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship (HNC preferred, minimum ONC or equivalent).
- Strong plant engineering knowledge and experience working with industrial systems such as: Hydraulic systems, Pumps, drives, and gearboxes, Heavy machinery, Water cooling systems, Material handling systems, Dust extraction systemsRobotics and PLCs, Vacuum systems and AC & DC circuit
- Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to fault-finding and root cause analysis.
- Experience with or knowledge of working under permit systems.
- Customer-focused attitude with an understanding of how to prioritise tasks with available resources.
