RMS Recruitment is working with a prestigious client in Rotherham to recruit for an exciting opportunity as a Electrical Technician. Our client is part of a global integrated steel business with a focus on sustainability and innovation. As a leading producer within the GREENSTEEL sector, they combine assets from across the steel supply chain, including liquid steel production from both raw and recycled materials, to manufacturing high-value, precision-engineered steels. They serve critical industries such as construction, energy, aerospace, automotive, and infrastructure.
Job Details:
- Location: Rotherham
- Position: Electrical Technician
- Type: Permanent Position
- Salary: £40,430.89 per annum (including shift allowance)
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday 7am-3pm, Weekend working 6am-2pm when required.

About the Role:
- Perform electrical maintenance, repairs, and inspections across site infrastructure, including workshops, machine shop, test house, buildings, offices, and Works Services areas.
- Utilise specific technical knowledge and skills to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of electrical systems.
- Collaborate with team members to follow and apply recognised safety practices and ensure compliance with safe working procedures.
- Be flexible and adaptable to take on various tasks across multiple locations, requiring a proactive, self-motivated approach.
- Participate in ongoing training to safely carry out a diverse range of duties.
- Demonstrate a methodical approach to tasks with a strong focus on detail, accuracy, and problem-solving.
- Apply effective communication and IT skills to support maintenance activities and decision-making.
About you:
- A recognised electrical apprenticeship (ONC level or equivalent).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and technical data.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
- Experience working with electrical systems in heavy industrial environments.
- Knowledge of PLC, HMI, and SCADA-based control systems is beneficial.
- Ability to identify problems, implement effective solutions, and take preventative measures.
- Familiarity with using a CMMS maintenance system for locating spares, accessing technical job descriptions, conducting risk assessments, and providing feedback.
