RMS Recruitment is working with a prestigious client in Rotherham to recruit for an exciting opportunity as a Electrical Shift Production Engineer. Our client is part of a global integrated steel business with a focus on sustainability and innovation. As a leading producer within the GREENSTEEL sector, they combine assets from across the steel supply chain, including liquid steel production from both raw and recycled materials, to manufacturing high-value, precision-engineered steels. They serve critical industries such as construction, energy, aerospace, automotive, and infrastructure.

- Salary: £43236.44 per annum (including shift allowance)

About the Role:
- Assist in the efficient operation of the electrical function, reporting to the team leader.
- Act as the first responder to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and carry out effective repairs.
- Follow routine and condition-based maintenance schedules as outlined in the Infor Maintenance Management System.
- Provide accurate and detailed feedback to the day engineering team through the internal software system.
- Support improvement projects under the supervision of the day engineering team, as required by the business.
- Carry out electrical engineering tasks during shifts, ensuring compliance with all internal and external health, safety, and environmental regulations, including the Permit to Work system, High & Low Voltage Safety Rules, and Isolation and Immobilisation procedures.
About you:
- A recognised Electrical Apprenticeship (ONC level or equivalent).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and work with technical data.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Electrical experience in heavy industrial systems.
- Experience with PLC, HMI, and SCADA-based control systems is advantageous.
- A proactive approach to identifying problems, implementing solutions, and preventing recurrence.
- Familiarity with using a CMMS maintenance system for locating spares, accessing job descriptions, conducting risk assessments, and providing feedback.
