RMS Recruitment are currently working with long-standing client and are looking for a Shift Electrical Technician to join the client’s team!

You will be responsible to respond to reactive and planned electrical repairs in manufacturing facilities, or warehouses. Work on inspecting, testing, repairing, installing, and modifying electrical components and systems.

You will be working continental shifts (4 on/4 off) and this is both Day Shift & Night Shift. This is a permanent position.

Main Duties & Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring timely delivery of Electrical support service to production team.
  • Maintaining engineering drawings and software.
  • Complete improvement activities.
  • Perform electronic equipment repairs to component level.
  • Complete TPM items.
  • Record all breakdown activity.
  • Repair electrical equipment, performing all work in a manner that meets both company and legislative electrical standards.
  • Daily report on shift activity, through written, verbal and PC base software system as required.
  • Liaise, and work with other departments to provide support and advise for the successful implementation of improvement activity.
  • Design small improvements, for approval via electrical engineers.
  • Ensure all electrical components utilised in any repair / modification works are both suitable for application and align with best practice.
  • Always promote and ensure safe working practices.
  • Install, maintain, and enhance electrical systems.
  • Undertake investigations into electrical problems, creating resolutions to ensure continued operations in a safe and timely manner.
  • Inspect, test, and repair, electrical components, and systems.
  • Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts.
  • Calibrate equipment to provided specification.
  • Adequate hand skills to ensure safe and competent completion of tasks.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience required:

  • BTEC HNC in Electrical/Electronic engineering. (HND Preferred)
  • Recognised Electrical apprenticeship.
  • Skilled in the use of core Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Experience in Omron / Siemens PLC and HMI software (preferred)
  • Fault finding on Inverters and servos systems.
  • PC literate in administrative and technical software.
  • Competent in using electrical drawings in fault finding and repairs.
  • Knowledge of compressors, boilers, air handling units, dryers would be advantageous.
  • Proven history in technical problem solving and fault rectification.
  • Good hand skills.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment (preferably Automotive but not essential)
  • Experience in Shift working preferred but not essential.
