We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Environment Operative to support the maintenance and upkeep of parks, open spaces, sports facilities and other sites across the area.

Location: Ferryhill
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £12.71
Type: On-going temporary role

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining community spaces, and can work flexibly, in line with seasonal demands.

Key Responsibilities

• General horticultural and grounds maintenance work, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, planting and pruning
• Maintenance of parks, open spaces and nursery areas
• Cleaning and upkeep of facilities such as changing tooms, public toilets etc.
• Supporting construction and site preparation works as a labourer
• Setting out and marking sports pitches and areas
• Erecting and dismantling sports and event equipment
• Assisting with events, including setup and dismantling when required.
• Safe operation of powered hand tools and light machinery

About You

• A full UK driving licence
• Experience of grounds maintenance, horticultural or labouring duties
• The ability to work safely and effectively both independently and as part of a team
• A flexible and positive approach to work
