Our client is renowned for their comprehensive vehicle services, including storage, inspection, maintenance, dispatch, and transportation. Job Details:
- Location: Corby
- Position: PDI Technician
- Type: Temp to Perm
- Working Hours: 37.5hours per week. Monday-Friday. 2x shift rotation 6am-2pm / 10am-6pm
- Salary: £18.60 per hour. Overtime and Unsociable hours at a increased rate.
About the role?
Working under the supervision and co-ordination of the Workshop Shift Manager and Mechanics Supervisor, you will be responsible for diagnosing faults in products, pre-forming pre-delivery inspections (PDI), fitting accessories, and carrying out necessary repairs to ensure vehicles are mechanically sound prior to dispatch.
Key responsibilities of the Role:
- To Inspect vehicles before delivery to ensure they meet the required standard. This can include but is not limited to – checking fluid levels, tyre pressures, lights and other essential components.
- To assist the workshop team in diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles.
- To instal accessories and optional equipment as per specifications and company guidelines.
- To carry out necessary repairs and adjustments to vehicles as identified during inspections or diagnosis.
- To maintain accurate records of all inspections, diagnostics, repairs and accessory fitments.
- To maintain the upkeep of all workshop tools and equipment.
- To ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
- To undertake any other duties as directed commensurate with the level of the job function.
About you?
- To be successful, you must be over 22 years old, possess a valid driver’s license with fewer than 6 penalty points, and have no DR10 offenses for insurance purposes.
- To succeed in this role, candidates must be able to work the specified shift times above.
- The be successful, you must have a L2 NVQ (or equivalent) in Mechanics or similar.
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience Pre Delivery Inspections.
- The ideal candidate will be required to complete a skills test and evidence diagnostic capability.
- The ideal candidate will understand health and safety and cooperate with managers to comply with Health & Safety regulations.
