One of the UK’s energy storage leaders, Matthew Lumsden of Newcastle’s Connected Energy, will be taking his expertise to the annual gathering of clean technology’s most influential leaders from corporate executives, investors, government agencies and CEOs in all areas of resource innovation around the world. Now in its 14th year, this annual gathering of the European innovation community offers a wide-ranging three-day programme of tours, panel discussions, round-tables and significant opportunities to gain insight into the future of clean tech in action – in energy, the circular economy, chemistry, land rehabilitation and more. Matthew Lumsden will be taking part in the panel discussion on the third day, ‘The EV Ecosystem: What are the opportunities for incumbents and innovators’ on the exciting emerging prospects in charging, vehicle-to-grid and finance. Matthew comments, “Our British designed battery storage systems and energy optimisation expertise are rapidly changing the way industrial and commercial energy users can capitalise on load flexibility. Our mission is to catalyse smarter, sustainable approaches to energy use. “Our innovative technology, E-STOR harnesses the energy of ‘second life’ electric vehicle (EV) batteries for site electric usage and grid balancing. In addition, through the grid services market we can provide customers with a revenue stream by helping balance the electricity grid during peak times.” Also speaking at the event will be Connected Energy investor and partner on a number of innovative projects across Europe, Engie. Michael De Koster, Head of Innovation and e-Mobility will provide Engie’s perspectives on the future of power generation and mobility, and their interlinked futures.
