The Forties Pipeline System from the North Sea is now fully operational and all restrictions have been lifted, Ineos confirms.
In a statement today, the operator announced that all oil flow restrictions on the pipeline have been lifted and that ‘virtually all platforms’ are now on line.
Ineos also confirmed that the Kinneil facility is now up and running and that the Force Majeure, declared in mid-December, has been lifted.
The operator said that lifting and loading of crude oil from Hound Point should recommence this weekend.
Ineos also used the statement to apologise to customers and the local community for the widespread disruption caused due to the closure of the pipeline.
In a statement Ineos announced that it “confirms the Forties Pipeline System is fully operational.
“All restrictions on the flow of oil and gas from platforms feeding into the pipeline system have been lifted and virtually all platforms are now on line.
“The INEOS facility at Kinneil has restarted and all products are in specification.
“Force Majeure, declared on 13th December, has now been lifted and the loading of crude oil from Hound Point is forecast to re-start during this weekend.
“INEOS has completed work on the pipeline as quickly as possible with safety as its highest priority.
“We apologise to our customers and the local community for the issues that the pipeline closure has created.”
