A north-east graphic designer is now looking to put her skills to use in the oil and gas sector after graduating from the Robert Gordon University yesterday.
Olivia Atkinson has seen her work displayed all over the UK and plans to keep on building up her portfolio in the years ahead after picking up a qualification in communications design.
She has recently returned from the New Blood festival in London which displays the work of new graduates.
The 22-year-old from Aberdeen described being able to study at Gray’s School of Art as “fantastic.”
She said: “Communication design is quite a broad course and allows you to experiment in graphics, illustration and photography.
“I was unsure which route to take after school so this course allowed me to find my way.
“As I am from Aberdeen, I was sure I wanted to stay home and study in my hometown and to have been able to study at Gray’s was fantastic.”
She added: “The course and the university allow you to visit exhibitions and festivals over the years and in fourth year I was able to take part in the graphic design festival in Glasgow.
“It was a fantastic week where we got to work alongside different design agencies and guest speakers.”
Now she wants to use her skills in the oil and gas sector.
She said: “I want to say in Aberdeen so I will hopefully get a job working in graphic design in oil and gas.
“I will keep on building my portfolio outside work.”
