Wonga data breach could affect 250,000 UK customers

Personal details from hundreds of thousands of accounts may have been illegally accessed, admits payday lender

Customers of payday loan firm Wonga are being warned that their personal data may have been stolen.

The lender said it was “urgently investigating illegal and unauthorised access to the personal data of some of its customers in the UK and Poland”. It is understood that up to 270,000 new and former customers, including 245,000 in the UK, could have been affected by the data breach, which was discovered on Friday.
