Researchers have developed a fabric to convert body heat into electricity to power wearable devices. The work was carried out at Purdue University in the US. The garment creates a flexible thermoelectric generator, which uses semiconductor strings woven into a fabric. The ‘generator’ can convert heat from any type of complex surface into a small amount of electricity.
