Interview Tips

An interview can be a daunting but rewarding experience therefore you may want to consider some of the points below before you attend your interview. Also remember that an interview if an opportunity for you to decide if the job and company is right for you.

• Preparation is crucial. Research the prospective employer, understand the nature of their business, who their customers are, when the company began trading, how many people they employ etc.
• Plan your journey to the interview. If necessary have a practise run.
• Be on time
• Dress smartly
• Smile and give eye contact
• Be ready to elaborate on your answers and give examples of your experience.
• Be positive. An employer will not appreciate derogatory remarks about previous managers / companies.
• Thank the interviewer/s for their time and shake their hand firmly.
• Remember an interview is an opportunity for you to decide whether the company is right for you as much as it is the other way around.
